A couple weeks ago we posted about Club Cool in Epcot’s Future World. Well that created a craving for some of one of our favorites, Mezzo Mix.
Club Cool Tasting Station
Since we’re a good nine hour drive away, we decided to try and create our own Mezzo Mix at home.
Mezzo Mix - Coca Cola and Orange Fanta
Don’t be fooled by the bottle of Mezzo Mix in the photo above. That would be an ebay purchase and who knows how old that bottle is. We see it more as a collectible piece.
Create Your Own?
We started by mixing various versions of Coca-Cola and Orange Fanta and tasting each time, trying to find the closest portions. After quite a few tastings we settled on the following:
5.5 parts Coca-Cola and 1 part Orange Fanta. Try it yourself and see what you think. You may discover a different ratio of Coke vs. Fanta and if so, let me know so we can try it out ourselves!
One of my must do attractions on each visit to the Magic Kingdom is Mickey’s Philharmagic in Fantasyland.
Entrance to Mickey's Philharmagic
The medley of so many great Disney film songs along with the 3-D animation make this an enjoyable attraction for everyone. The central focus of the story revolves around the beloved Donald Duck and his antics in trying to get back Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Hat (which he shouldn’t have touched in the first place, of course) and that just adds to my enjoyment of this attraction.
The queue area is actually more like a “lobby” with posters advertising some of our favorite characters and their musical performances.

More Inside the Queue
Once inside the attraction, you’ll find yourself inside a musical theater, complete with a stage, and curtain.

And in case you’re missing this great attraction right now, why not enjoy it from the comfort of your home. Watch an HD version here that I found on YouTube.

Easy one today! Where in the World is this?

Check back this evening for the full photo and answer. In the meantime, post your guess, and check out all the photos and stories from this past week.
This one was another easy one! You’ll find the little green aliens inside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland.

The musical group, The Village Beatniks, are part of the daily entertainment found inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. The group consists of five members, all playing some sort of percussion based instrument, and honoring the story of Discovery Island. A very interactive band, they always brought members of the crowd in to play along on some of the instruments.
The Village Beatniks
Sadly, after entertaining crowds for the past 12 years, the Village Beatniks will be saying farewell to the Animal Kingdom. According to Disney, the Village Beatniks will be discontinued Sunday, September 26, with their final performance on Saturday, September 25, 2010. If you are going to be in the area between now and then, take some time to catch these guys before they say their final farewell to the park!
Thanks for 12 years of great entertainment!
Many of the Disney Resorts are located on a lake which allows a large number of water related recreational activities. If you like being out on the water, why not spend an afternoon or evening relaxing on one of the many rental boat options they have to offer.
Boat Rentals at Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground
The little two person craft are referred to Water Mice and have three different rental options (3o minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour). The driver must be 12 or over as well as meet the 5 ft. tall height requirement. Some locations such as Ft. Wilderness (pictured above) offer canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals as well. Finally, if you’re looking for a big day out on the water, you can rent one of the pontoon boats. Drivers must be 18 or over for the pontoons.
Boat Rentals are available at the following resorts and Downtown Disney locations:
Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
Yacht and Beach Club
Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter
Caribbean Beach Resort
Old Key West
Downtown Disney Marketplace
Parked right outside of the Sci-Fi Dine In restaurant in Disney Hollywood Studios is a small example of what you will find when you enter in and eat inside this table service eatery. We’re posting a quick shot preview today because next week, we’ll be posting a full length review of the restaurant with photos and information on the food and theming.
Sci Fi Dine In Exterior Detail
We recently posted about the San Angel Inn restaurant inside Epcot’s Mexico pavilion, but that’s not all that sits inside the model of the Aztec Temple of Quetzalcoatl. The main area inside is covered with various kiosks that sell different Mexican souvenirs. The perimeter of the interior is made up of a handful of shops as well. La Tienda Encatada sells clothing, jewelry, and accessories while the neighboring La Princesa de Cristal has a collection of crystal and glass items available for purchase. If you are lucky, you’ll catch the glass blower working on new pieces for the shop.
